Causes of Burning Urination

Ajwain is one of the important herbs with very strong and pleasing smell. Because of this reason, Ajwain is known as Ugragandha in Sanskrit. Ajwain also known as carom seeds or bishop's weed. Ajwain has various health benefits as well. The seed, oil, flowers and extract of Ajwain are used as medicine for various diseases. Out of the numerous health benefits of Ajwain, its role in proper digestion and heart health are the most important. Ajwain seeds are considered healthy because it contains various nutrients like protein, fat, fiber, carbohydrates, minerals, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin.

Burning sensation while urinating (dysuria)is a thorny experience. Burning urination can occur in both men and women. Burning urination can occur due to various reasons. The diagnosis depends on other clinical symptoms, lab diagnosis or ultrasound scanning as required. The most common cause of burning or stinging urination is an infection or inflammation somewhere in the urinary tract. People who have pain with urination also may have the urge to urinate more often. Here are some reasons which may contribute for your burning sensation while urinating.


Causes of Burning Urination


1.Urinary Tract Infections(UTI):
 In fact, most women will face urinary tract infection at some point in their life, at least during honeymoon. Frequent urge to urinate, burning urination and fever with chills are associated with UTI. Factors that leave you at high risk of UTI are diabetes, pregnancy, kidney stones or having a urinary catheter.

2.Inflammation:
Inflammation of any part of the urinary tract will cause burning during urination. Inflammation can occur due to various reasons like interstitial cystitis, vaginal changes related to menopause, use of douches or spermicides, side-effects from certain medications and tumours.

3.Kidney stones:
Burning urination is a common symptom in cases of kidney stones. It commonly occurs when the stones move down the ureter approaching the urinary bladder. This will cause a stronger urge to urinate and the urination will be painful.This will also present vomiting and pain in the back.

4.Fungal infections:
Fungal infections, especially vaginal candidiasis is a common cause of burning urination. This is generally associated with diabetes. With yeast, the burning sensation occurs when acidic urine touches the irritated skin of the vulva and so the burning arise when the urine reaches out.

5.Pregnancy:
Pregnancy is a physiologic condition which will make our immune system a little weak. Chances are more for getting infections while the immune system is not strong enough to fight against external invasions. The urinary tract infection thus occurs will cause painful urination.

6.Sexually transmitted diseases:
Burning urination can occur in cases of sexually transmitted diseases such as genital herpes, Chlamydia and gonorrhoea.In such cases, burning urination will be accompanied by itching,blisters or sores for genital herpes and abnormal discharge.

7.Prostatitis:
While urinary infections are less common in males due to the length of the urethra, prostatitis is one of the frequent causes of burning urination in males. Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland which may occur in young and middle-aged men.
